Help Young Adults Face Serious Obstacles with a Camp K.A.R.E Donation

This year’s charity is Camp K.A.R.E., a division of the American Foundation of Counseling Services, Inc. Camp K.A.R.E. is a program whose focus is to prepare foster children for independent living after they reach the age of 18 and “age-out” of the foster program. Many youth exit the foster care system without family, emotional connections, financial assistance, or positive prospects for self-sufficiency. The program works to build independent living skills and runs a life simulation for nine weeks. One of the greatest benefits of this is that real learning and mistakes can take place in a safe environment. Without such a program, many of these young adults face serious obstacles.
