Brandi Carlile with The Lone Bellow
Folk-rock singer Brandi Carlile brings her innovative guitar work and powerful vocals to the Meyer Theatre on Friday, June 28, 8pm. It’s part of her “Hard Way Home Summer Convoy” tour with The Lone Bellow. She will perform songs from her latest album, Bear Creek. Brooklyn-based country trio The Lone Bellow meanwhile has been receiving positive praise from NPR, Paste Magazine, CBS, USA Today and more. With friends like The Civil Wars, this could be a huge year for the group.
Brandi Carlile has toured virtually non-stop for eight years, sharing the stage with Dave Matthews Band, Ray LaMontagne, The Indigo Girls and The Avett Brothers, among others. She’s released four well-liked albums, a smash ballad “The Story” and several EPs in the span of six years, and now she’s back with a personal and down-to-earth new record, titled Bear Creek.
Produced by Grammy-winning engineer Trina Shoemaker, Bear Creek finds Carlile in her element: She recorded it in a rural Washington barn, surrounded by family and friends. The result is a great mix of classic rock, folk, bluegrass and soul. Bear Creek represents a step forward for Carlile, who took on a greater role in helping to produce the album.
